On the way out of Death Valley, it started raining. We stopped at Dante's View and got above the weather. My daughters boyfriend, Nick, joined me for the short hike to Dante's View Peak. I was surprised to find reference marks and the benchmark intact given how close it was to a busy tourist stop. It was chilly, but the wind was calm. The use trail continued over the peak and down a ridge to unknown destinations.
